Carlo Bugatti (1856-1940 Italian) Print A circa turn of the 20th century corner chair, each painted vellum back rest signed ''Pellegrini'' for Riccardo Pellegrini (1863-1934 Italian), of walnut and ebonized wood with inlaid pewter, bone, and mother of pearl, the demi-lune inlaid top rail raised on copper-wrapped and stepped cylindrical supports suspending the circular vellum back pads hand-painted with orientalist figures, over a square vellum-upholstered seat, raised on cylindrical copper-wrapped and stepped legs, 28'' H x 26'' W x 25.5'' D, Provenance: Atmosphere, Los Angeles, CA, purchased 1989; The Estate of Dr. Paul E. Keith III, Las Vegas, NV; acquired from the above. Condition: Overall good condition, with general marks, scratches, scuffs and wear commensurate with age. Scattered shrinkage cracks including a 2''-long repaired split to top rail. Scattered water spots throughout. One missing tassel to right side and a break to rope under left back rest. A 1'' tear to front corner of vellum seat and scattered shrinkage tears to vellum around edges of back rests. Wear and paint loss to hand-painted back rests.
