Lot of 7 cased images, including: Quarter plate tintype of bearded soldier standing with rifled-musket and bayonet, housed in half case. Image with major surface wear/cracking. Image is dark. Housed in half case with significant wear. Sixth plate daguerreotype of a young man in civilian dress, housed in full case with circular tintype, 1.5 in. dia., affixed to velvet lining showing what appears to be the same young man in a Civil War uniform. Both images in very good condition. Sixth plate ruby ambrotype of two Union soldiers standing arm-in-arm in a studio setting. One of the subjects is a sergeant. Housed in full case, fully separated at hinge. Light wear to surface of image, but still very good. 3 sixth plate tintypes of soldiers, including an uncased portrait of a very young Union private. Image is bit dark, but details still visible. Accompanied by portrait of soldier with curly hair, housed in full case, fully separated at hinge. Some wear, spotting, darkening of image; and seated portrait of a bearded soldier, housed in full case reinforced at hinge. Image a bit dark. Ninth plate ambrotype of a uniformed soldier, twice identified on accompanying manuscript notes as "Jacob Hoffman, " born in 1838, and a resident of Buffalo, NY in the early 1900s. Some loss to emulsion. Image is dark. Housed in full case separated at hinge.
