Beschreibung:

12mm Pinfire, 6.25" round barrels, s/n 15568 & 15646. Blued finish, varnished walnut grips. Frames, cylinders and part of barrels engraved with flowing, open foliate vine motifs, and barrels both engraved Lefaucheux A Paris on their tops. Both with Lefaucheux "LF" maker marks preceding the serial numbers on the obverse frames and with the Lefaucheux patent marking on the reverse frames. Spurred triggerguards, ejector rods, dovetailed front sights. Contained in a form-fitted French style case with a green velvet lining and including a number of accessories. These include: A dual cavity iron mold to cast both conical and wad cutter bullets, an iron cleaning rod, a wood handled, brass powder dipper, what appears to be a steel case re-sizer, an ebony handled turnscrew, and an empty box for cartridges. A number of loose original cartridges are contained in the two lidded compartments. The original case key is present and the case lock works correctly. A very attractive set of highly embellished, pre-Civil War era cased Lefaucheux revolvers in a very nice state of preservation. Condition: Fine. The pistols retain some of their bright blue, the balance having faded or flaked. Smooth metal throughout, fine bores and mechanics. Grip with some edge wear and finish loss, and a few handling marks. Accessories all very good to fine, as is casing. A really lovely set.
