Caucasian Moghan Runner RugCaucasus
c. 1880, the ivory-colored open field is reminiscent of Caucasian rugs form the Talish region, but the structural characteristics and other design motifs suggest a Moghan origin for this piece. The playfully drawn "crab" border utilizes positive and negative space and hosts a deeply saturated palette of primary colors. The wool is soft and lustrous, and the rug is in very good condition with mostly full pile. This is a highly decorative rug for almost any interior but also rare and collectible for the Caucasian carpet aficionado.
