Charles Robert Ashbee (1863-1942) for the Guild of Handicraft, an Arts and Crafts silver and chrysoprase butter dish and knife, each marked for Charles Robert Ashbee London 1900, the high bifurcated loop handle set with a cabochon, the hammered bowl with a beaded rim, 19cm (7 1/2in) long, the dish 11.7cm (4 5/8in) diameter; the butter knife, with a short hooked blade, mounted on an openwork handle with silver ball to centre, the circular beaded finial inset with a green cabochon, 13cm (5 1/8in) long, 1943g (6.2 oz) gross, with a clear glass dish liner founded the Guild of Handicraft in 1888 and in 1902 moved his craftsmen to Chipping Camden. It was voluntarily wound up in 1908. Condition report disclaimer
