Warren Eaton (ll); inscribed as titled on an old label affixed to the reverse Oil on board 10 x 8 inches Provenance: Private collection, PA A leading figure in American Tonalism, Eaton shared a passion for quiet rural scenes rendered in the Barbizon mode with his friend George Inness. In this canvas, Eaton accentuated the vertical of the canvas with a symmetrical arrangement of tall white pines that frame the sunset.
