Château Gruaud-Larose--Vintage 2000
1 dozen bottles per lot
CHÂTEAU GRUAUD-LAROSE Gruaud-Larose was created in the mid 18th-century by the wealthy Monsieur Gruaud. In 1757, he combined Tenac, Sartaignac and Dumarle to form what was originally known as Fonbedeau. M. Gruaud was the original "hands on" owner, something considered rare and eccentric at the time. A dedicated viticulturist, he even built a large tower at the château, from which to watch over all of his properties. When he died in 1778, he left the property to Monsieur de Larose and the name was changed to its current moniker: Gruaud-Larose.
