Chateau Haut-Brion 1982 Chateau Haut-Brion 1982 Pessac-Leognan (Graves), 1er Cru Classe u. 1x3cm, scuffed labels, 1 nicked label, excellent color and clarity This is a fabulous wine. Just when you think it could not get any more delicious, it comes up and hits you in the face with its sheer, knock-out beauty. Outstandingly rich and spicy, so chocolate, so young and so fresh. One cannot gulp enough of it and it remains long on the palate in all its smoky, velvety glory. In 2009, in double magnum, it was stupendous and on New Year's Eve 2010, in bottle, it was gloriously silky. In 2011, rich, glorious leather and sumptuous liquorice fruit. SS. Lot 44 5 bts (sc) per lot: USD 2500-3500 Haut Brion is the connoisseur's First Growth, sumptuous, soft, elegant and fine, so come-hither you sink into it. The hidden depths in its velvet folds of flavour are a revelation, with the extraordinary Cohiba notes leading to a spicy, constantly intriguing taste. With age, Haut Brion simply melts in the mouth, while in youth it is delicious before the other Firsts emerge from the chrysalis. This is the classiest, finest-textured wine from Pessac-Leognan, with its unique, almost "peaty" flavors. SS. Quantity: 1
