Just when you thought it could not get any more delicious, it comes up and hits you in the face with its sheer, knock-out beauty. Outstandingly rich and spicy, so chocolate, so young and so fresh. One could not gulp enough of it and it remained long on the palate in all its smoky, velvety glory. On its last outing in 2009, it was in double magnum and quite stupendous. SS. With age, Haut Brion simply melts in the mouth, while in youth it is delicious before the other Firsts emerge from the chrysalis.
