Chateau Haut Brion 1998 Chateau Haut Brion 1998 Pessac-Leognan (Graves), 1er Cru Classe Tasted at a great Imperial dinner in Hong Kong in 2011. Such an extraordinary spice bazaar bouquet - it reminds me of a stroll through the Cairo market! Then a touch of sweet mint and basil. So soft and velvety, with a glorious 'inky' finish. Tobacco and mineral, meaty and huge. An impressive vintage here and a totally winning wine. From bottle in 2012, full of character and absolutely stupendous. SS. Lot 39 6 mags (owc) per lot: GBP 2600-3200 per lot: USD 4000-5000 per lot: EUR 3000-3800 Haut Brion is the connoisseur's First Growth, sumptuous, soft, elegant and fine, so come-hither you sink into it. The hidden depths in its velvet folds of flavour are a revelation, with the extraordinary Cohiba notes leading to a spicy, constantly intriguing taste. With age, Haut Brion simply melts in the mouth, while in youth it is delicious before the other Firsts emerge from the chrysalis. This is the classiest, finest-textured wine from Pessac-Leognan, with its unique, almost "peaty" flavours. SS. LYING IN GREENFORD, MIDDLESEX Offered Duty Paid only Quantity: 1
