Chateau Haut-Brion 1998 Chateau Haut-Brion 1998 Pessac-Leognan (Graves), 1er Cru Classe Lot 5277: 1 slightly scuffed label Lot 5278: Scuffed labels Lot 5279: 2 nicked labels Lot 5280: Scuffed label, owc has damaged lid Lot 5281: Slightly scuffed label Lot 5282: Heavily scuffed and nicked label Total toast, coffee and blackberries nose. Roses and tobacco. Marvellous voluptuous, velvety taste. Full of glycerol and complex flavours. A "smoke in the fireplace" wine. Such finesse of texture, while La Mission has such definition. Monumental Haut Brion with decades to go. In 2011, an extraordinary nose of total intensity. Sumptuous and scrumptious - great, wild stuff. SS. Lot 5281 1 imperial - 6 liter (owc) Lot 5282 1 imperial - 6 liter (owc) per lot: HKD 24000-32000 per lot: USD 3000-4000 Haut Brion is the connoisseur's First Growth, sumptuous, soft, elegant and fine, so come-hither you sink into it. The hidden depths in its velvet folds of flavour are a revelation, with the extraordinary Cohiba notes leading to a spicy, constantly intriguing taste. With age, Haut Brion simply melts in the mouth, while in youth it is delicious before the other Firsts emerge from the chrysalis. This is the classiest, finest-textured wine from Pessac-Leognan, with its unique, almost "peaty" flavors. SS. Quantity: 1
