Chateau Montrose 2000 Chateau Montrose 2000 St. Estephe, 2eme Cru Classe Lot 7000-7015: Slightly scuffed and marked labels and capsules Lot 7003: 11 capsules with French tax stamps A bouquet which shows the end of adolescence and the beginning of adult life. Complex. Soft coffee creaminess. Such lovely red raspberry fruit on the palate. So crunchy. A panoply of red fruits, coffee and liquorice. In 2013, it unfolds in grandeur with "iode" depth. The sweetness of the year with the 'saltiness' of St. Estephe. Such extraordinary allure. Will last at least half a century. Serena Sutcliffe, MW Lot 6996 12 bts (owc) Lot 6997 12 bts (owc) Lot 6998 12 bts (owc) Lot 6999 12 bts (owc) Lot 7000 12 bts (owc) Lot 7001 12 bts (owc) Lot 7002 12 bts (owc) Lot 7003 12 bts (owc) Lot 7004 12 bts (owc) Lot 7005 12 bts (owc) Lot 7006 12 bts (owc) Lot 7007 12 bts (owc) Lot 7008 12 bts (owc) Lot 7009 12 bts (owc) Lot 7010 12 bts (owc) Lot 7011 12 bts (owc) Lot 7012 12 bts (owc) Lot 7013 12 bts (owc) Lot 7014 12 bts (owc) Lot 7015 12 bts (owc) per lot: HKD 12000-16000 per lot: USD 1500-2000 In the two great vertical tastings on Montrose, that I have done, it is immediately obvious it is one of the most exciting and long-lived wines in the whole of Bordeaux. There is an inimitable flavour of the ocean in the wines, minerally and even "salty". The texture is dense and tight-knit, with great complexity of taste. Serena Sutcliffe, MW Quantity: 1
