A BRONZE WINE FLASK, BIANHU China, Han dynasty The body with a flattened oval shape supported by a rectangular section base and surmounted by a cylindrical neck with bulging mouth. 25,2 cm high Provenance : Fabrizio Savi collection, acquired from Anthony J. Allen Auckland, New Zealand, between 1995 and 2000. Published in A.J. Allen Allen's Authentication of Ancient Chinese Bronzes, Auckland 2001, pp. 106-107. This particular shape was already in vogue during the Warring States Period, widespread even in the Han dynasty.
