Mathews following the completion of the Gemini Program and on his retirement from Langley Research Center, March 28, 1967 and March 1976, respectively, containing 37 color photographs in the Gemini album and 14 color and 24 black and white photographs in the Langley album. Images cover many highlights of Mathews' NASA career, including the Gemini 7 spacecraft photographed by Gemini 6 during their rendezvous in space, the Agena target docking vehicle as seen from Gemini 7, Edward White performing the first American spacewalk, Earth as seen from Gemini 8, a view from the hatch window during Gemini 2's reentry into the Earth's atmosphere, and several NACA aircraft.
