Lot of 3, including: Lithograph, 15 x 20 in. Philadelphia: P.S. Duval & Son, 1864. Illustrated with spread-winged eagle at top, and border of oval portraits of Lincoln, Washington, and several prominent Union Generals. With oval section at center, including depiction of Civil War battle at bottom. Top portion of oval section identified in fancy script to James Murdock who "was mustered as member of Company G, 14th Regt. Maine Vols. Feb. 25th, 1862; Reenlisted Apr. 1864; Wounded Feb. 19th 1864; Battles engaged in: Baton Rouge Aug. 5th, Winchester Sept. 19th, 1864, Fishers Hill Sept. 22d, 1864, Cedar Creek Oct. 19th, 1864." Horizontal fold in lithograph. With some spotting, light stains in margins, some short tears, chipping along edges. Small area of damage near top left corner. HDS indicates that Murock reenlisted with the Maine 7th Infantry in April 1864 and was then transferred to the Maine 1st Veteran Infantry in August 1864. While with the 1st ME Veteran Infantry, he was severely wounded in the right leg at the Battle of Cedar Creek on October 19, 1864, and his leg was amputated. Lithograph, 15.5 x 19.5 in. "The Soldier's Memorial" for the 39th Regiment, Company A, Massachusetts Vols., with patriotic vignettes at top of fighting taking place in front of the Capitol building and the attack on Fort Sumter, and oval portraits of Lincoln, Winfield Scott, and George McClellan above names of the officers and privates that served with the regiment. Some toning, soiling to lithograph. Not examined outside frame. Lithograph, 20 x 25 in. Designed by Col. A.P. Connolly - US Grant Post-28; Drawn by A.E. Cass. A tribute poster recognizing those who served in the Civil War, ca 1880s. Titled at center, "One Country, One Flag," illustrated with vignettes of the attack on Fort Sumter, a naval battle, the surrender at Appomattox Court House at center, surrounded by various battle scenes, surrounded by circular portraits of prominent Union Generals, including Grant, Sherman, Hancock, Sheridan, and more, each with facsimile signature below.
