CLARK, John Heaverside (1771-1863)]. View of London from the Adelphi, Forming Part of the Panorama of the Thames from London to Richmond. London: Samuel Leigh, [n.d., watermarked 1829]. Small 4° (255 x 206mm). Folding hand-coloured aquatint panorama (243 x 16800mm) on 3 conjoined sheets, by John Clark letterpress explanation mounted on front pastedown. (A few light marginal spots, light marginal finger-soiling on one fold.) Original green cloth with publisher’s printed label on front cover (lacking ties, rubbed and lightly soiled). Attractive copy of this splendid view which was taken ‘from the upper part of a house near the Adelphi, a situation which presents a greater portion of interesting objects than any other spot in the Metropolis’ (letterpress explanation). This separate issue of the panorama from the Adelphi precedes the Panorama of the Thames. Abbey Life 494 (1).
