Opera, 1548, contemporary calf gilt, monogram and device of JACQUES AMYOT gilt at center of covers and in spine compartments, rebacked, original backstrip laid down, corners restored, some minor marginal dampstaining , Adams C2075, long note in a contemporary hand on front fyleaf, later sixteenth- or seventeenth-century ownership inscription on title, "ex biblioteca fuliensi P. Bernardi fontanensis" -- CICERO. Rhetoricum...eiusdem De Inventione, 1560, contemporary stiff vellum, probably a Lyonese binding, covers with gilt center and cornerpiece arabesque design, on a semis of triple dots, flat spine with gilt-hatched interlacing arabesques, edges gilt and gauffred to a leafy tendril design, pink decorative endpapers, covers bowed, slightly rubbed, upper margin of title cut away , bookplate of René Choppin, 19th or 20th century note in English on front flyleaf -- PETRUS CRINITUS. De Honesta disciplina, 1585, contemporary stiff vellum gilt, covers divided into geometrical compartments by triple gilt fillets, central compartment with a monogram formed by the letters HLMPS within gilt-tooled wreath, the monogram repeated at corners with gilt leafy branches and flower tools, flat spine semé with gilt flames, gilt-lettered lengthwise, later endbands, endpapers renewed, lacking last 5 leaves (Hh6-Ii2) , Adams C2956 -- DESIDERIUS ERASMUS Familarum Colloquiorum opus, 1539, 8vo, eighteenth-century calf, spine gilt, corner and upper cap restored, joints worn, gutters of first and last leaves renewed, a few other minor repairs, contemporary inscription on title, extensive marginalia in a contemporary hand, Fr. Hofmannus, inscription on title dated 1610; all Lyons: Sebastian Gryphius (or Gryphius heirs), the first three 12mo , italic type, printer's device on titles and on verso of last leaf of 4th vol., woodcut initials, the first three from the library of Mme.
