London: Henry Colburn, 1828. 4° (270 x 210mm). Folding aquatint frontispiece, folding engraved map after John Walker 12 plates including 9 aquatints, and 2 engraved plans, engraved illustrations. (Without the final blank, small loss in margin of frontispiece, large map with repaired tears near margins, one plate detached but present, occasional light offsetting.) 19th-century half calf, red morocco spine label (spine panel lightly scuffed, extremities rubbed). When Raffles retired from the Residency of Singapore in 1823 he appointed Crawfurd as his successor. It was under his tenure, in 1824, that local chiefs ceded the whole island to the East India Company. The plans show Bangkok and Singapore.
