A customized 3-caliber revolver produced by Cylinder & Slide on a Smith & Wesson 648-2 revolver. Includes three cylinders (all with C&S numbered chambers), one for each caliber and a second barrel insert to convert the pistol from .22 to .17 caliber. An appropriate wrench is included for barrel liner removal and installation. The pistol configuration includes a Cylinder & Slide custom wide trigger with over-travel adjustment, as well as adjustable fiber optic rear sight with green inserts and a red fiber front sight. Includes a S&W blue plastic case. This pistol formerly belonged to the late gun writer Frank James, who authored an article about this specific gun in 2009, entitled Double Action or Semi-Auto...A "one off" Custom Revolver. It appears that Cylinder & Slide only produced a handful of these very versatile custom revolvers. Condition: Fine. Pistol and grips with some light scuffing and handling marks. Mechanically functional, fine bores.
