You could call the Teutuls of the hit TV series Orange County Choppers the 21st Century version of the classic Leave It to Beaver family sitcom. Well, maybe call it Leave It to A Cleaver since the brash and brawny Teutuls…Paul Sr., sons Paul Jr. and Mikey… tend to get rambunctious with each other, although all in good TV ratings fun. In any case, they’ve literally put custom motorcycles square in the public’s eye whether the viewers ride bikes or not. That would be a good thing as in raising awareness about the skill, talent and dedication that goes into turning motorcycles into rolling works of art. The New York State bike building family rocketed to fame in 2002 via the Discovery Channel’s American Chopper reality TV show, then moved over to TLC. Famous for their “theme” bikes, even the USAF commissioned a $150,000 "Air Force Bike” as an aid for their recruiters. It did get everyone’s attention as did a long series of other dramatically conceived and executed motorcycles, many seen in construction by an international TV audience. The bike offered here is in fact Paul Teutul Sr.’s personal Harley Davidson 2003 Road Glide (FLTRI) which rolled out of the factory as a 100th Anniversary model. OCC “upgrades” include the addition of high performance Screamin’ Eagle heads to the 1550cc V-twin engine, the heads also CNC ported and polished. A “hotter” cam and hi-performance “healthy” sounding exhaust system further enhanced by computer mapping helped produce 102 dyno-verified horsepower available at the twist of the throttle. In addition to the gleaming show quality silver and black paint job, the list of upscale goodies includes custom made handlebars, satellite cd/stereo, a powder coated front end and rims as well as a comfortable Mustang seat with adjustable back rest and several yards of gleaming chrome accessories. Purchased directly from Paul Teutul, Sr. by the owner in August 2006, the side cover bears Paul Sr.’s signature attesting to its authenticity. In addition the OCC Road Glide has been featured on several American Chopper episodes with Paul Sr. seen at the controls. A unique “artifact” of the American Kustom Culture world, this OCC original shows only 8,700 original miles and is ready for show and go.
