Deed by Raoul de Neuville, bishop of Arras, the archdeacon of the cathedral (identified only as P) and by Egidius de Henin, canon of the cathedral, on their arbitration of a dispute between the Augustinian abbey of Mont-Saint-Eloi [Mount St Eloi better known as the abbey of St. Vindicien] and of the Cistercian abbey of Loos over the allocation of certain tithes from lands in the neighbourhood of Rogiersart [Rochart (in Rebreuve-Ranchicourt)], a dependency of the Cistercian abbey of Loos, manuscript in Latin, on vellum, 22 lines, written in a decorative gothic documentary hand, large initial capital with decorative flourishing, chirograph in the left margin partially cropped, lacks seal, very slight wear along folds, folds, browned, tipped-in on card mount, 282 x 252mm., June 1214. *** Raoul de Neuville, French cardinal, diplomat and Bishop of Arras, 1203-21.
