DELEMARCHE, Flix, Paris, 1863 DELAMARCHE Paris Rue Serpente 25 1863 A decorative 3-inch (7.6cm.) diameter miniature globe made up of twelve hand-coloured engraved gores and two polar calottes, the equatorial and Paris meridian graduated in degrees, the ecliptic graduated in days, the oceans with Hawaii showing o fut tu le Capit e Cook en fevrier 1779 , Antarctica showing some small stretches of coastline, the continents with nation states shown in dotted outline and with rivers, mountains, deserts, towns and cities ( areas of discolouration, some areas of neat redrawing ), with brass meridian circle engraved on both sides but unnumbered, the brass horizon ring engraved but unnumbered and supported on four curved quadrant supports to baluster column and stepped plinth base with foliate decoration, adorned with a brass telescope and sector, raised on a stepped rectangular polished slate plinth with a crema valencia base -- 7 (18.4cm.) high See Colour Illustration and Detail
