Description: Victor K2 XH669 and Associated Items This particular Victor was the second B2 off the production line. It first flew on 6/8/59, it participated in the SBAC Flying Display at Farnborough 3/9/60.Following this it served with 100., 139 sqns. It later went for conversion to become a K2 Tanker with Hawker Siddeley at Woodford before entering service with 57 sqn and later with 55 sqn. This particular Victor participated in the Black Buck 1 raid on Port Stanley 1/5/82, it was due to give the final re-fuelling to the Vulcan before it went on to Stanley Airfield but before it could do so its refuelling probe broke whilst flying through a storm and it had to give its fuel to another Victor to take its place. This was described in the book Vulcan 607. This Victor was a well known and documented aircraft and provides a Museum or collection with a worthy tribute to what was at the time, the longest bombing mission in history. This cockpit is substantially complete with most instruments and panels in place together with the refuelling probe, throttles, two ejection seats and rear crew seats are included in the Lot. I have a considerable stock of Victor spares and my aim was to make this the most complete Victor Cockpit on display. NOTE: The buyers premium for the cockpits lots is set at 15%+vat. This is due to it being a former vehicle classification. This applies to lots 2-5 in this sale. All other aviation lots are subject to standard premiums of 25%+vat Aircraft Type: Victor B2/K2 6/8/59: First flight. 22/12/59: Awaiting collection handed over to Controller (Aircraft) at Park Street. 3/9/60: Loaned to Handley Page for SBAC display at Farnborough. 17/6/63: Handley Page for mods (conversion to B2R). 21/6/66: RAF Wittering OCU. 10/10/68: Handley Page for storage. 3/6/70: Hawker Siddeley Woodford for K2 conversion. 20/1/77: 57 Sqn. RAF Marham 18/8/80: RAF St Athan for major servicing. 12/11/80: 57 Sqn. RAF Marham. 10/6/83: RAF St Athan for major servicing. 31/8/83: 57 Sqn. RAF Marham. 20/3/86: 55 Sqn. RAF Marham. 26/6/87: RAF St Athan for major servicing. 3/11/87: 55 Sqn. RAF Marham. 21/6/90: Engine fire. Emergency landing at RAF Waddington. Aircraft was not repaired and allotted 9092M Update from Pete Cross: I was on 55 Sqn when XH669 diverted to Waddington in June 1990. Your web site states that it had an engine fire causing it to make an emergency landing at Waddo. It wasn't an engine fire, it was a hot air leak from one of the inboard engines that caused damage to the flying controls. Definitely not an engine fire. 12/5/95: Aircraft scrapped. Nose section removed for restoration. Disclaimer. Due to the nature of this collection being former military service items, and as such the materials used in the manufacturing of them, the owner accepts no liability following the transfer of ownership. It is the buyers responsibility to satisfy themselves of the implications of owning former military vehicles and equipment. Realised Price: £
