CHINE, DYNASTIE QING, XIXEME SIECLE
DEUX TEXTILES EN GAZE BLEU BRODEES, JIFU , UN CHAPEAU DE MANDARIN ET DEUX BOUTONS DE CHAPEAUX CHINE, DYNASTIE QING, XIXEME SIECLE Both fabrics are cut and worked in couched gilt thread and embroidered with blue, white, green, red and yellow threads with five-clawed dragons in pursuit of flaming pearls amidst cloud scrolls, bats and Buddhist emblems above lishui stripes. One is applied to the sides with borders of lined blue silk. The crown of the velvet-brimmed hat is covered in black satin under a tassel of red twisted silk cord and surmounted by a transparent glass button and white jadeite tube with horsehair plume. The two glass hat finials are each of a clear blue tone. The robes circa 63 ¾ in. (162 cm.) long in total
