His entries cover World War II, his chiropractic practice, his ventures into Hollywood, the Korean War, and Chute's accounts. Diaries continue right up to his death in 1952. This was truly the infancy of chiropractic as it was merely a few years before when in 1895 this practice came into the headlines, and the medical profession was up in arms over it. These diaries span the time of 1921 to 1952; twenty two years in the life of a Los Angeles chiropractor. His detailed entries include: his family; his practice; his patients (most of whom he identifies); numerous entries about WWII; Tte Korean War; births;deaths; children; forced retirement; and so much more. His handwriting is crisp, clear, detailed, and exceptionally easy to read. Includes entries about doing manipulations, giving locals; drawing blood and testing urine; his diathermy machine; giving colonic/galvanic treatments; purchasing fish skins to use on copper electrodes; his cold and hot ray machine; actually at one time burning someone's throat. The 1952 book has laid in the original hospital issued ticket to remove his clothing and items that he had with him at the time of his death for the family to take home. There are also several black & white original photographs of Charles with his wife and daughter laid into this volume. Charles Chute was born in Nova Scotia, Canada on April 22, 1877 and emigrated to the United States in 1919. He married Genevieve Fairchild Baker in Battle Creek Michigan on Oct 9, 1920 and they had one daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Chute, born Dec. 25, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois. Genevieve died on Oct 30, 1960 in Santa Barbara, California, at the age of 82, and their daughter Sarah died in Bear River, Nova Scotia on Jul 30, 2009, at the age of 87. In his diaries he refers to his daughter as S.E. and to his wife as G. His grandson's name was Raymond.
