FIRST EDITION, Eckel's second issue binding (the first is embossed pink cloth) but first issue text (with no border around the last plate in vol. 2) 36-page publisher's catalogue at end of vol. 2, with etched portrait and 12 plates by George Cruikshank ( nearly all spotted ). Eckel, pp. 140-142 -- DICKENS. A Child's History of England. London, 1852-53-54. 3 vols., square 12mo, original rose-brown cloth, marbled edges, worn at ends of spines and fore-corners, cloth case.
