Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, La Tâche 1985
3 bottles per lot
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, La Tâche 1985 Grand Cru, Côte de Nuits Embossed Domaine capsules. Lightly bin-soiled labels. Numbered bottles: 10879, 10881, 10888. Levels: two 1.5cms, one 2cms below base of corks Tasting note: First tasted at the Domaine, October 1990: deep, rich, intense, yet showing some maturity; extraordinary aroma, back to its brilliant self after the preceding dreary vintages, spreading and fluttering its wings like a bird after the rain. The sweetness of ripe grapes and alcohol, assertive, great length, dry finish. Six years later, from an American cellar, showing well. …Most recently: beautiful in all respects. At its most gloriously fragrant best. Last noted at the closing dinner of Stephen Kaplan’s 1985 vintage event in Chicago, April 2000 ***** M.B. 3 bottles per lot
