Half-title, 12 lithographic illustrations in the text, 39 finely hand-coloured lithographic plates only (of 40, lacks plate 40) by Formentin, Motte and others after Dupré with blind atelier stamp in margins (slightly browned, some soiling and spotting, a few with marginal tears), double-page partly hand-coloured plate of a Turkish firman (slightly browned and soiled with small tears. Text leaves heavily spotted). Contemporary roan-backed boards (worn). FIRST EDITION, originally issued in 10 parts. Dupré visited Greece and Turkey in 1819 and recorded his tour with portraits and views. Blackmer 517 ('His book [is] probably the most beautiful ever produced on Greece and Turkey'); Lipperheide Lb 52; Colas 916.
