(trimmed to platemark, sm. spot at lower right, sm. tear at lower right corner). Stuck under passe-partout. Interesting etching after a drawing in the Chatsworth collection by Samuel van Hoogstraten (1627-1678), which was long thought to be by the hand of Rembrandt (hence the signature). A later state of this print was also part of "Impostures innocentes, ou Recueil d'estampes d'après divers peintres [...] par Bernard Picart [...] avec son elogie historique et le catalogue de ses ouvrages", published in Amsterdam in Joined: Le Bas, J.-P. After Rembrandt - Christ Preaching (The Hundred Guilder Print). Etching and drypoint, x 28,1 cm, brown laid paper, signed in the plate at lower left margin "Rembrandt f.". Ref.
