Several of his works were exhibited in the 2011 Getty Foundation exhibit Art Along the Hyphen: The Mexican-American Generation. A monograph titled Roberto Chavez: Paintings and Drawings was published by Berkeley's hit & run press in 2012. His paintings can be found in the Smithsonian Museum of American Art and the Autry Museum of the American West, among other collections.
