Eduard Stellmacher (German, 1868-1929) for Riessner, Stellmacher & Kessel Amphora Pottery Co., Germany. In the swirling drapery at her feet are the faces of two woman. She holds aloft a large leaf in one hand and cradles a large flower in the other. With a matte glaze. Signed along the bottom rim. Height: 29 in x diameter: 19 in. Condition Request Condition Report The sculpture is in generally good condition with no major chips, cracks, or dents. When inspected under UV light, there was no visible sign of restoration. There is wear throughout the sculpture, most significantly to its base, consistent with its age and use. Along the base, there are blue accretions throughout. There are three felt pads adhered along the underside. There is a network of four 1/2 inch long stretches that are discolored dark. As expected from its age and use, golden gilding peeled off in outcarved areas. There are some recessed areas that are discolored, most significantly to the back of the female figure's dress. Along the female figure's hair, there is a minute loss, smaller than 1/4 inch. There is an unevenness to the surface on the left side of her hair. There is spotty discoloration to the backside of her left arm. There are two hairline cracks to the right front of her dress, each approximately 1/2 inch long. There is a minute dent to her torso. Some of the small round fruits on the female figure's left arm are missing. Dust collected to the surface and recessed areas. Please contact us for a detailed condition report. Please note that the lack of a condition statement does not imply perfect condition. Email condition@revereauctions.com with any condition questions.
