EIGHT EGYPTIAN STONE AND FAIENCE AMULETS NEW KINGDOM TO PTOLEMAIC PERIOD, 1550-30 B.C. Including four steatite scarabs: one with a Pharaoh aiming a bow at a rearing lion, a seated lion below with its head turned back, reading: "Amen-Re (is) my Lord;" one reading: "The Gold is (as) Grace and Protection;" and two from the reign of Tuthmosis III, the cartouche with Men-kheper-Re, the prenomen of the Pharaoh; one reading: "[King of Upper and Lower Egypt], Beautiful [God], Lord of the Two Lands, Men-kheper-[Re], [May he live forever!] or [Endowed with Life];" and one reading: "Mut appears in glory;" a carnelian wedjat -eye, with incised details; a blue faience wedjat -eye with black details; a blue faience round-topped amulet with Ibis-headed Thoth, returning the wedjat -eye above an offering stand, a suspension loop above; and a blue faience winged scarab, the separately-made body and two wings perforated for attachment Winged scarab: 2¼ in.
