A shoulder-length portrait, inscribed on the lower margin: "To Mr David Paul Jaffa (?) as a token of esteem Albert Einstein 1945." "The foremost theoretical scientist of this century. Einstein was deprived of his German citizenship not long after writing a scathing denunciation of the Nazi mentality in 1933. A rare, hitherto unprinted image"--W.M.
