lot of 2. Both 6 x 8" on Mrs. Roosevelt's letterhead notepaper. Lewis Sorensen created a pair of wax dolls in the likenesses of Franklin and Eleanor, and sent them to Eleanor in 1950. She in turn sent them to be put on display at the FDR Library in Hyde Park. This lot has her thank you note to Mr. Sorensen as well as one from her secretary, June Silliman. Included are a real-photo postcard of Sorensen at work and an image of the Eleanor and Franklin dolls referenced in the letter. Sorensen was known for creating life-like wax dolls, in the style of Madame Tussaud's wax figures, and did a Presidential series in the 1940s. Condition: Minor surface soiling and both loosely tipped onto a single piece of construction paper, easily removed.
