Ezra Pound was issued to accompany the publication of Pound's Lustra in America by Knopf in 1917; it was written by T.S. Eliot--who later commented of it, 'There was a time when it did not seem unfitting for me to write a pamphlet [...] but Ezra was then known only to a few and I was so completely unknown that it seemed more decent that the pamphlet should appear anonymously' ( The Cantos of Ezra Pound (New York: 1933), p.16)--and corrected and amended by Pound, who also compiled the bibliography. The recipient of this copy was possibly a relative of the Vorticist artist Jessica Dismorr who was, like Pound, a contributor to Blast , and knew Pound in the pre-war and wartime period.
