[Holland, Richard.] Globe Notes per R.H. [Oxford]: 1666. Small 8vo (140 x 85 mm). 32 pp. a-B8, with the 11 line letterpress addenda slip inserted between pp 14/15, contemporary notes on constellations on verso of front free endpaper. Contemporary speckled calf, neatly rebacked. Provenance: Dupplin Castle, Perth and Kinross, Scotland (with library shelf number on front paste-down). Holland's rare work on globes, Rare Book Hub recording just one copy of the 1666 edition at auction since 1900 (Sothebys New York, 2003), and 4 copies of the later 1684 and 1701 editions in the same period. Together with 10 other works by English authors on globes and globe construction including: Moxon, J. A Tutor to Astronomy and Geography ... Globes Celestial and Terrestrial. London: 1686. 4to.
