Hand forged iron with round eye and crescent blade. Head measures 4-5/8" with a 3-3/4" cutting edge. Both sides decorated with a sun with a cross in the center and with repeating borders. Haft is a later replacement. CONDITION: Cutting edge has been flattened and shows some nicks. Head has dark patina overall with a series of hammer marks on back and top. An attractive engraved ax.
