ESTHER SCROLL (Megillat Esther), in Hebrew, manuscript on vellum [Germany, or central Europe, early 19th-century] 3500 x 330mm, 20 lines of Hebrew Ashkenazic square script in black ink, in 23 panels on seven membranes joined, rolled, with vellum tie. Later black leather cylinder with red morocco lettering piece titled 'Hebrew Pentateuch Manuscript'. Provenance , acquired by G.S. Foljambe in Damascus, 1855 (inscription on verso).
