Lepidoptera Oligocene La Toca Mines, Dominican Republic A spectacular moth specimen, very rare because of its size (nearly one inch) was captured in a flow of detritus-filled resin 30 million years ago in the tropical Dominican amber forest. Magnificent details, including coloration and visible lenses in the bulbous eyes, and beautifully preserved antennae and legs, offer rare insight into the life of this ancient flying insect. Specimen measures just under 1in; Amber measures 1 ¼ x 3/4in
