Beschreibung:

An interesting collection of signatures combined with photographs of early 20th century actors, actresses, singers, dancers, musicians, writers, and athletes, among other personalities. The book contains 135+ autographs and signed inscriptions, many that have been enhanced with photographs of the particular personality or related newspapers clippings. Most of the notes are inscribed to Morris S. Turner, who was most likely a native to Cincinnati, Ohio. The autographs and photographs are housed in a 12mo-sized book titled on cover I would Live It Again, by Julia B. Foraker, with title page included. However, the pages within the book lack any text. Some highlights from the autograph book include: violinist Jascha Heifetz; tennis player William Tilden; conductor Arturo Toscanini; writer and broadcaster Lowell Thomas; baseball players and/or managers Mickey Cochrane, Lew Riggs, Babe Pinelli, Billy Southworth, and Bill McKechnie; British author H.G. Wells; tallest human being, Robert Wadlow; heavyweight champ Gene Tunney; cartoonist Robert Ripley, with Believe it or Not inscription; popular bandleaders Guy Lombardo, Kay Kyser, and Duke Ellington; composer Sigmund Romberg; "Boys Town" Founder, Father Edward Flanagan; poet Robert Frost; magician Harry Blackstone with profile sketch; African American singer Marian Anderson; pianist Arthur Rubenstein; son of British Prime Minister, Winston Churchill Captain Randolph Churchill; and many actors and actresses such as Shirley Temple (ALS), Katherine Hepburn, Borris Karloff, Leo Carrillo, Edward Everett Horton, Basil Rathbone, Edward G. Robinson, and Fred Stone, who was in early performances of the Wizard of Oz, accompanied by a sketch of the Scarecrow. Condition: Most signatures strong.
