Beschreibung:

Finn Juhl (b. Frederiksberg 1912, d. Ordrup 1989) “FJ 45”. Easy chair with teak frame. Sides, back and loose seat cusion upholstered with black Elegance leather. Model FJ 4500. Designed 1945. Made and marked by House of Finn Juhl The model was presented at The Copenhagen Cabinetmakers 19. Guild exhibition at Designmuseum Danmark the 28th September - 14th October 1960. The “FJ 45” chair may not be as iconic as the “Chieftain” chair, but it certainly is the most beloved Finn Juhl chair of all. Presented as early as 1945 it came to define, in many ways, how a mid-century armchair should be. The chair would become one of the biggest commercial successes for cabinetmaker Niels Vodder and was produced by him until the 1970s. Literature: Grete Jalk [ed.], “40 Years of Danish Furniture Design”, vol. 2, ill. pp. 276–277. Literature: Noritsugu Oda: “Danish Chairs”, pp. 86–87. Condition Appears almost unused. No remarks.
