Manuscript document signed ("B.Franklin," with large flourish) as President of the Executive Council of Pennsylvania, addressed to David Rittenhouse Treasurer of Pennsylvania, "In Council" [Philadelphia], 30 June 1787. 1 page, oblong, 165 x 302 mm. (6½ x 8 in.), slight tears at top edge at two folds, very slight stains . A pay warrant for a member of the governing Council: "Pay to The Honorable Jonathan Hoge Esqr. or order the sum of Thirty two pounds eleven shillings in full for his attendance as a Member of Council from the 29th of May to the third of July 1787 both days included -- and his mileage." The warrant bears a a particularly fine Franklin signature.
