FRENCH ILLUSTRATED BOOKS] BERTRAND, ALOYSIUS. Gaspard de la nuit: . Paris: Ambroise Vollard, 1904. One of 100 copies on China paper, with 1 of 20 suites of wood-engraved proofs, also on China. Both parts in original wrappers. 9 1/2 inches (24.5 cm); xxx, 310 pp., with 213 woodcuts by the Beltrands after Seguin, along with a complete suite (more commonly found with the copies on japon). Generally a very fresh copy; Together with DE LISLE, LECONTE. Les Erinnyes. Paris: Societe des Amis du Livre Moderne, 1912. One of 150 copies on Japon, with a sleeve including five original drawings, a set of progressive proofs for an illustration, and other material. Original wrappers in publisher's sleeve. 10 1/2 inches (27 cm); 78 pp., illustrated throughout by August Leroux. A fine copy. The first work is Gordon Ray Art of the French Illustrated Book 374.
