oil on canvasunframed: 98.8 x 75 cm.; 38⅞ x 29½ in.framed: 111.9 x 87.9 cm.; 44 x 34⅝ in.Condition reportThe canvas is relined, the paint surface is clean and the varnish is clear and even. It is in good overall condition. There have been some repairs which are visible under ultraviolet light. These include two vertical 7cm old tears on the sitter's bodice, some restoration to the right of her face, and in the hair alongside. There is an old repaired tear in the background lower left and more old repairs to the upper right background. Apart from this the paint surface appears well-preserved throughout. The restoration has been well carried out and is not obtrusive to the naked eye and the picture should not require further attention. This lot is offered with a plain gilt wood frame.
