Original printed wrappers. Provenance : Presentation inscription by Freud to Oskar Pfister ("Seinem lieben Dr. O. Pfister Freud 12.2. 25" on upper cover); Dr. R. Brandt (presentation inscription, dated 1955, by Pfister on recto of frontispiece). OFFPRINT ISSUE, PRESENTATION COPY of Freud's autobiographical history of his role in the development of psychoanalysis, inscribed to the Swiss protestant minister and psychoanalyst Oskar Pfister (1873-1956) who "was Freud's friend and correspondent, and a student of the application of psychanalysis to education..." (Norman, see F92). Presentation inscriptions from Freud to other analysts are very rare. Norman F123.
