Given them by their Affecte. Governess Louisa de ?Challet" at head of sheet, a little soiled and creased, folded in four, [cf.Whitehouse p.55], Bowles & Carver, [water-marked ?1818]. ⁂ A later version of one of the earliest table games, mentioned in Oliver Goldsmith's Deserted Village of 1770.
