George Jones Majolica Butterfly Beauty-Patch / Powder Box and Cover Circa 1874 Impressed GJ monogram mark, raised registry diamond (18-U-A-6) for 18 December 1874 and black painted :.: to cover The cover naturalistically painted as a brightly colored butterfly, the rustic box as a tree-stump edged by daisies and foliage. Height 1 1/2 inches, width overall 4 inches. Provenance: With Charles L. Washburne, Chappaqua, NY Literature: Marilyn G. Karmason with Joan B.
