Riccardi claims that the first part was first issued in 1686 but Carli and Favaro prefer a date of 1688. Riccardi's citation of a 1685 edition of the second part is also doubted and no copy has been traced. Both works deal with the gravitational theories of Galileo and Torricelli. Carli-Favaro 88 (372); Riccardi I 604.
