A niece of the great Emily Kame Kngwarreye she became involved with the Women's Batik Group from 1977 and in time also began painting on canvas. Her ravishing, colour-drenched, rhythmic compositions are in a sense abstract, but they are directly inspired by and based on plants used in traditional bush medicine in Australia, notably including the emu bush, a versatile sterilising agent.
