Golden Cockerel Press -- Chaucer (Geoffrey): The Canterbury Tales, 4 vols., number 3 of 500 copies, this one of 15 copies on vellum , folio, Golden Cockerel Press, 1929-1931 [Chanticleer 63: 'A beautiful book!' ; Gill 281], initials in blue, red and black, numerous wood-engraved illustrations, borders and initials by Eric Gill (very light occasional browning to a few leaves), original brown morocco by Sangorski and Sutcliffe, gilt, upper covers with centrally placed designs after Gill, spines in six compartments with raised bands, lettered in two, brass clasps, g.e., each vol. within its own cloth solander box. (4)
